Medical Bill Reviewer and Coder

The Medical Coder performs technical reviews of evaluation and management visits, surgical procedures, and inpatient and outpatient facility bills in multiple states.  Audit and validate documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing.  Recommend allowances according to the appropriate states’ fee schedule.  Must be familiar and have experience with ICD and CPT billing codes and have the ability to learn and navigate different computer systems and software. 

• Coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, or Biology
• Coursework in ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Business letter writing experience
• Coding certification: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CCA, RHIT, or RHIA
